Adaptive RFI Cancellation in VDSL Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
Radio frequency interference (RFI) greatly increases the difficulty of channel equalization in a single-carrier based very-high-speed digital subscriber line (VDSL) system. This paper investigates digital complex-coefficient adaptive notch filter (ANF) algorithms to cancel the RFI. The goal of this paper is to propose a base-band RFI cancellation technique employing digital complex ANF and analyze its performance.

Rfi Cancellation in Vdsl Systems Using a Novel Complex
A complex−allpass−based multiple notch IIR filter is proposed to suppress Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) that affect VDSL systems. A notch filter realization based on complex allpass cascaded second−order sections is presented and evaluated in this paper. Two different algorithms, using the Recursive Prediction Error (RPE) method and an alternative (similar to the Steiglitz−McBride) method,...
متن کاملAdaptive Steiglitz-McBride notch filter design for radio interference suppression in VDSL systems
Abstract— In this paper, Recursive least square (RLS) based complex Adaptive notch filter (ANF) using Steiglitz-McBride (SM) method is proposed to suppress the Radio frequency interference (RFI) in very-highspeed digital subscriber line (VDSL) systems. The proposed RLS-SM ANF converges fast and requires less computational complexity than the existing direct form constrained ANF using recursive ...
متن کاملOverview of Technical Approaches to RFI Mitigation
This overview provides an interface between lines of thought on rfi mitigation in the fields of radio astronomy and signal processing. The goal is to explore the commonality of different approaches to help researchers in both fields interpret each others' concepts and jargon. The paper elaborates on the astronomers' concept of gain closure relations and how they may be used in a " self-calibrat...
متن کاملLow complexity crosstalk cancellation through line selection in upstream VDSL
Crosstalk is the major source of performance degradation in VDSL. A number of crosstalk cancellation techniques have been proposed to address this. Whilst these schemes lead to large performance increases they also have high run-time complexities, a problem which grows rapidly with the number of lines within a binder. Since the majority of crosstalk typically comes from only a few dominant cros...
متن کاملSoft Cancellation via Iterative Decoding to Mitigate the effect of Home-LANs on VDSL (333R1)
Previous contributions [1], [2] have reported on the performance of a maximum-likelihood based joint detection of VDSL signals and Home LAN signals that share the frequency band between 5 and 10 MHz. The methods described were promising in that they show it is possible to mitigate the effect of a Home LAN signal on VDSL almost entirely if a small fraction (3%) of the VDSL band was judiciously s...
